andco   10 #14 Posted April 29, 2012 Completely removed 2 step verification process. Got a test message through successfully but failed at the next step with the following error message:   Send test e-mail message: Cannot send the message. Verify the e-mail address in your account properties. The server responded: 530 5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first. n20sm33517227wiw.
 Share this content via...

andco   10 #16 Posted April 29, 2012 For some reason, I can get it to run the test mail correctly one time only; it seems unable to retain the ssl and tts settings which now seems to be the cause of making a connection with gmail. swarfendor437 Â Â 14 #20 Posted April 29, 2012 I think as far as Outlook it is - I notice that a lot of the 'conversations' about it take place on msdn social - M$ now expect users to find the solution rather than providing technet articles - I read it somewhere on another issue. I would be curious to see if you could get it working in Thunderbird (check earlier links) but I'm moving away from all things Mozilla due to its tie-ins with Google - In process of migrating most machines to Pegasus Mail - just done one so far. swarfendor437 Â Â 14 #22 Posted April 30, 2012 Will Pegasus mail avoid this issue for me? Â I honestly can't say - as I don't have any 'webmail' accounts apart from my ISP - no 'hotmail', 'Yahoo', 'AOL' or 'gmail'. All I can suggest is - give it a try.
