How much does it cost to get a dental implant in Sheffield?

Recommended Posts

I had my front tooth knocked out, half of the other one and some of my bottom front teeth when I was 6 on a see saw by a nasty teenager.

I had the screw done free for the one that fully came out at charles clifford when i was 18, and because it was via trauma it was free.

I suffer from anxiety and panic attacks and I am so frightened of going back (because of all the horrible things that i had to have done after the accident and how patronising and ignorant a lot of the dental surgeons were)

They are now telling me that it will be 1,200 just for the one tooth (not the screw).

Are they having me on?

I need my teeth whitening, which is going to be a farce as my teeth are not all natural, happy to shell out £450 for that.. but the fee for the porcelain tooth is more than double what i'd pay for my first car haha!

Worried that I will never be able to open my mouth on photos :(

Hi, I'm thinking of getting a dental implant for 1 tooth, and I wonder if somebody could give me a quote for this from a particular dental pratice.

Thanks!

My daughter is a dentist in Barnsley and they charge £2500 I told her about the £1000 quotes given on here and she said they start low and then extras come in so get a written quote first. She says Flint & Flint at Woodseats do a good job

My husband was quoted £8000 last week for 3 teeth . Many people need lots of work before the implant work can even begin .£400 just for a CT scan to see how much bone there is left . I have always taken care of my teeth but it made me realise I could do a lot more . Prevention is the way forward . Oh! and no he isn't going ahead .

the best place for an implant is Hungary, their clinics and facilities are superb, not to mention their dental surgeons, you can view their clinics online. they will even do a bone cultivation if needed, the last time I looked at the prices they were approx £500 per implant

And what happens if things don't work out OK as can happen with implants........Hungary is a long way back!

But we live in rip off Britain where everyone has their hand in each others pockets especially private dentists!

you have to make two visits, first for the post to be implanted and then the porcelain tooth at a later date, with the cheap air fares at the moment you make it a short break, nothing in this world is guaranteed, except death and income tax, they leave our over paid dentists in the dark. Its says something when a dentist a Charles Clifford tells me that there,s very few good dentists in this area of Sheffield, they can all drill, fill, and extract and that's about it, Just think if it all went well In Hungary you would have enough leftover for another even better holiday later

My wife is currently in Hungary getting a whole load of work done. 3 implants, 8 veneers and whitening. She was quoted over £9000 here in Sheffield and over £10k at a nice private place in Barnsley.

Top Hungarian surgery

£4100 incl flights and hotel.

Return flights are normally £125 and if she has any problems that are urgent ANY DENTIST will see her here. It's their job!!

Don't listen to ignorant people telling you that abroad = inferior service or skill.

Hungary and Poland have some of the best dental schools in the world.

PM me for details if you need any help

You can't have implants done on the NHS as I was looking to have 4 done. My dentist said I would have to pay privately, 1 tooth is around £1,000-£1,500 depending on where you go, some dentists may offer a discount for more than one tooth but that depends on the dentist.

Another issue to be concerned with is some dentists are better than others, its one thing paying £1,000 for an implant if its not done correctly and you're in constant pain because the dentist has gone straight through a nerve. Its better to look around and ask for a portfolio of previous patients and have someone with a proven track record rather than a not so good dentist, paying less getting a bargain and finding you're in constant pain....

My previous dentist I would avoid, my new dentist is great however she is NHS as he was, on the previous issue a road digger would do a better job of it!!!

My dentist is Polish and they train for 7 years in order to qualify unlike UK dentists who take 5 years. In Poland its also cheap howevert here's the language barrier to consider

Why 'especially private dentists?' Can you support that accusation with a few facts?

The quotes I've read on this thread (for the work being done by UK dentists) are very similar to the quotes Ive received in the US and in Germany.

Hungary is a long way away. - but that shouldn't be a problem.

Have you considered all the other (some rare, but extremely dangerous - like endocarditis - possible side effects?

TRUE STORY - re dental work done in 2013 - age now 73

Originally from Swallownest I have lived in Malaysia since 2006. In early December 2009 I picked up pneumonia from someone somewhere. Thought it was just flue so did nothing about it - got worse over following 14 days. Never been ill in my life till then, so my wife took me to our local state of the art medical centre - very big and like a Holiday Inn inside and in the rooms. This was 11-15pm on a Thursday. within 10 mins I was surrounded by doctor, nurses and then top consultant specialising in such problems. within next 15 mins I was in intensive care with tubes and drips everywhere. Nurse sat at bedside 24/7. 4 days later moved to a private room and had a further 2 weeks stay in luxury - excellent care and excellent food menus to choose from. Completely cured by end of first week January 2010.

October 2010, diagnosed with cancer. Cancerous lymph nodes either side of my tonsil. Gave me option of treatment at medical centre or return to the UK to have treatment. Waiting for NHS appointment - I would have been dead. Our nearby medical centre is one of Asias top cancer treatment hospitals, second to Singapore. So by 2nd week October 2010 started with chemo. Did this every 2 weeks until mid December 2010. First few days of January 2011 started Tomo Technology - specialized pin point radiation. Had that 8-30am every morning Monday to Friday for 7 weeks. Felt dreadfull at the end of it, but after a further 2 weeks started to get back to normal again. Now go every 6 months to see the consultant for a check up. As at last Tuesday 100% fit and healthy.

January 2013 I decided to go to a local Orthodontic and Dental Speciailists. Had 18 teeth repaired and crowned, plus a bridge - cost me in UK money 380-00 for very high class work

May/June 2013 my wife went and had old crowns removed and replaced, plus 4 dental implants, 2 sessions of laser whitening and bridge work - done over a 9 weeks period - cost me in UK money 2,200-00

My sincere advice - come to hot and sunny Malaysia for anything medical. No waiting lists, virtually next day service. Here you can use one of the many programs - come for a month, have the op, convaless in the hospital of a nearby 5 star hotel and pay just a package deal fee. Lots come here from the UK for treatment, particularly hip replacements etc

These really are state of the art hospitals with no expense spares for speciaiist equipment

Any one want a wen site address please let me know

Best Wishes - Grey Eminence - Subang Jaya - Malaysia
