Miss_S_83   10 #25 Posted April 25, 2012 I'm deliberately being as simple and clear as possible. Public sector workers outside London get paid less than those in London. How could that be any simpler?  We already all know this, but that's not the point of the post, is it? That has been that way for years. It's not the same as cutting pay by a huge amount and making it all different rates across the country. I can't imagine many nurses will be happy to earn £16000 a year even if they live in the poorest parts of the UK.
 Share this content via...
juniee   10 #26 Posted April 25, 2012 thankyou miss s the point i was trying to get across is that the government want the nurses in the north to take a pay cut because the cost of living is lower in the north than in the south. do you think that is fair
 Share this content via...
jsmith2009 Â Â 10 #27 Posted April 25, 2012 a big mistake . again a divide between north and south or poorer and richer areas . shame up on them
 Share this content via...

London etc maybe, but that's why they get the extra as it is, which is fine. I am not looking forward to earning £16k p/a I tell you that. pluginbaby53 Â Â 10 #29 Posted April 25, 2012 I think it stinks! I understand cost of living and north south devide but to sting health care workers whilst leaving management exempt, letting them sit back and count their cash is awful. I really would love to see the moron who's come up with this 'money saving' idea work one, just one of my shifts. Really hope the nurses stick together on this and do strike
 Share this content via...

pluginbaby53 Â Â 10 #31 Posted April 25, 2012 We've already been shafted on our pensions and now this. Just recently within the last few days I'm aware of colleagues who've been told they're being debanded, in such a specialist area if care too. God, get this government out as we're not taking it without a fight!
 Share this content via...

I'd go south but not London, wondering if South West will get more.....?  ETA: Just re-read report, SW, Midlands and North are the ones facing regional pay cuts.
