Sheffield Wanderers Walking Group - Bluebell Walk, Tues 24th April

Recommended Posts

Tuesday 24th April - Woolley Woods (Bluebell Walk)

This is a 6 mile walk which takes us from Meadowhall along the disused railway line to Ecclesfield from where we go through part of Concord Park and Woolley Woods to return to the start. An added bonus on this walk should be that we'll be able to see the bluebell display in Woolley Woods which are always worth seeing. The walk is almost flat for the entire route, unless anyone fancies doing a small detour and climbing to the top of Concord!

Meet at the Meadowhall Interchange car park off Barrow Road at 6.0 for 6.15

New walkers (of all sizes!) are always welcome, but booking is essential.

The bluebells were well worth seeing, and despite the weathermen promising otherwise, it was a lovely evening for walking. Our leader took us to parts of Concord Park I'd never seen before too which was a bonus. Pity the Railway at Wincobank wouldn't let us take our dog in though. I'm sure most pubs would be glad of a dozen or so thirsty walkers for an hour when they were empty at 8 o clock midweek. Still, I appreciate that not everybody likes dogs.
