MrSmith   10 #61 Posted April 19, 2012 Looks like the people who are trying to justify it are the same people who usualy have a problem with brown skins.  I love brown skins and the crispier the better a bit of cheese mixed in the middle. Sierra   21 #63 Posted April 19, 2012 Don't waste your time trying to argue about it, Sierra. It's hopeless and they're not even worth it.  Go ruby! Go ruby!  I just hate it when people pull the race card! I'm not saying racism doesn't exist, it does. It's nasty and ugly, and like art, you know it when you see it.  I'm just so tired of people crying racism when that isn't the case at all. ferno   10 #64 Posted April 19, 2012 In fact the response from Kabul residents was less outrage than when the korans were burned or when the US staff sergeant allegedly murdered 17 men, women and children.
 Share this content via...
Frank Sidney   11 #65 Posted April 19, 2012 In fact the response from Kabul residents was less outrage than when the korans were burned or when the US staff sergeant allegedly murdered 17 men, women and children.  That's because the Taliban are their enemy as well. Agent Orange   11 #67 Posted April 19, 2012 Are you seriously trying to call anyone who disagrees with the OP a racist? I am so freaking S-I-C-K of that word!! It's thrown around so much it's meaningless.  Come up with something else. That doesn't work. At least not on me.   Don't waste your time. The person is an old troll and is playing at the "islam" card to get their kicks.
 Share this content via...

There's tonnes of stories of the taliban killing civilians. So, there is a lot more evil going on than some soldiers posing with body parts of their enemy.  I suppose you will just continue to shut your eyes to it and believe the evil coalitions forces are the ones committing crimes against humanity.  Western soldiers are supposed to be civilised, just because the Taliban does it doesn't mean we should either. Two wrongs don't make a right.
 Share this content via...

ferno   10 #70 Posted April 19, 2012 In January, marines were found to have filmed themselves urinating on Afghan corpses. In February, the burning of Qur'ans at a US base triggered deadly riots. Last month, a staff sergeant allegedly killed 17 civilians, mainly women and children. Among Afghans in Kabul there was condemnation of the photographs for breaking moral codes, and concern they could be used to recruit insurgents, but little sense of the personal outrage following the Qur'an burnings and civilian deaths.  http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012/apr/19/karzai-condemns-suicide-bomber-photos
 Share this content via...
ferno   10 #71 Posted April 19, 2012 Are you seriously trying to call anyone who disagrees with the OP a racist?  Clearly not. He's challenging the sort of sick mind that would offer excuses for posing with mutilated bodies. There is no evidence that all the body parts came from insurgents, how would you feel if an invading force posed for snaps with your child's mutilated corpse? mafya   240 #72 Posted April 19, 2012 Neither, in fact. They're just body parts, and enemy body parts, at that. When you're dead, you're dead, it's not like you'd care anymore, or that your family will know about it and get upset.  It's nothing I'd choose to do myself, but people who work in stressful occupations often develop a gruesome sense of humour. Even medical students have been known to make jokes about sick people and corpses. It's a coping mechanism and I'm surprised that someone in your supposed line of work doesn't recognise that.  Added to which, last time the bleeding hearts were getting in a froth about something similar, didn't it turn out to be photoshopped?  Would you say the same if it was an American or British soldiers body parts being paraded about by the Taliban and they also said they are our enemy and now are dead?
