Miss M Â Â 10 #37 Posted April 19, 2012 Thanks all. Today I took a trip to Wardsend (and Metalman, you were right - couple of lads offroading but I wasn't alone. Having said that, they never troubled me). Â It's absolutely amazing! I had a trip around although I couldn't figure out where it went exactly but very interesting all the same. Is it me, or have some of the stones been moved? They seem ridiculously close together with trees everywhere?
 Share this content via...

jen16267 Â Â 10 #41 Posted April 20, 2012 Hi, Â There is one up the big hill behind penistone Road. Its literally just behind the greyhound track and then up the hill. Â I came across it the other day and it was beautiful! I never knew it evenm existed! Was just wandering up that hill as Id never been there before and wanted to see the city from the top and the gravyard was at the bottom! Its massive though and all the graves date back from the late 1800's. Â All the headstones are massive and really pretty! Â Thanks Jenny
 Share this content via...

harvey19 Â Â 541 #45 Posted April 21, 2012 Wow, thanks all. These are all brilliant and I wouldn't have found them without your help. Â @Harvey19 - can you tell me the locations of your second two choices? I don't know the areas well enough, thanks. Â Wardsend is walking distance to me and had no idea it existed. It's awesome - worth a visit!! Â There is a guided tour of Wardsend Cemetery on Saturday 12th May starting at 10-30am. If you contact 0114 221457 or 0114 2331841 they will give you details.
