Just spent a couple of hours reading through all the postins, It reminded me vividly of the cafe at firvale where I used to spend every lunchtime in the fifth year.

We would play on the pinball machines endlessly, fortunately the young lady behind the counter would lend us the key to the machine so we could play for free.

Someone mentioned the bike shelter, it was often a smoking den.

Looks like there haven't been any postings since June, is anybody out there?

Its was Tony Oldale.

Thank you

Hi there , sorry if this is a few years late, I have only just found the site, your dad and i were good friends, being in the same class at Owler Lane, I remember going on holliday with him and his family to Cornwall.

Sorry to hear he is not with us any more. I did spot him on a school photo listed on a sheffield schools website.

I would like to get in touch with anyone from the 1952-58 intake, reading through the postings there seem to be a few, but no recent activity.

I hope you have all lost interest and that I am not the last survivor.

The 1960 intake flitted to Facebook a few years ago. Could be that’s what your classmates have done.

Sorry, I don’t use it myself and haven’t a clue how to. Hopefully, someone will see your post and help.

Anybody still monitoring this thread know if Sir Glyn (Glyn Senior) is still with us? I haven't been able to get a reply from him via email for some time.

Ken J.

Sorry to say he died in March last year, Ken.

That would be Tony's American style cafe at Firvale.

Still a few of us left, but lots of people have deserted the Forum. There was (is) a group organised by Parsley Diva, that used to meet in the Winter Gardens every so often.
