Stolen iMac - 24/3/12

Recommended Posts

Personally I'd go check out the area where it showed up as being. Look for any sign of people who don't fit the likely profile of a sneak thief - eg elderly people, clearly respectable people then give them a knock and explain whats gone off. If it was a false positive you'll soon find out that nobody in the area is at it, if there is a resident scrote you'll probably not have to speak to more than a couple of residents to identify them. Then call the police back with the address. And send them an invoice for doing their job for them.

why not track the location over a period of time, you should then be able to get a better location from an average of triangulation? - Just a suggestion I think that's what I would do.

You're right guys, I will be making my own enquiries, as the police seem unable to do anything. I know the area I need to focus on, so watch this space.

And please, forum peeps, let me know if you happen to come across any iMac fitting the above description, anywhere at any time...
