Light switch question

Recommended Posts

I'm in the process of knocking through a partition wall, to merge the dining area with the kitchen.

We want 240v spot lights installing which im ok with but obviously there are 2 live feeds of power from what was 2 separate rooms. I want a dimmer switch installing, would i be ok putting both live feeds into that and running 5 spotlight off one feed and 4 spot light off the other. both being controlled by the 1 dimmer switch

As technically its in the kitchen you are no longer allowed to do this sort of work yourself, you need to be part p registered.

Of course that doesn't stop you doing it yourself (it wouldn't stop me probably) but you sound unsure about what you need to do so I would highly recommend getting an electrician in to do it. I can't see it costing much if it's as simple as it sounds.
