Us English do not need to celebrate all these feel good days we know we are the best .We do not have to sing daft songs about some ones donky or dance about with criss crosssing legs at a hundred miles an hour to prove it.

Just cast your eyes World wide and see our influence.

Shameful? Hardly mate. What is the point in having a day to celebrate a Turkish man who is probably fictional that killed a creature from a fairytale? It is like celebrating Skywalker for killing Janna the hut. Get over it mate.

So I will return the question, whats the point in the ENGLISH celebrating an IRISH tradition? This country cant even support its own day, silly individuals.

You watch what us English will do on the weekend of Her Maj's 60th Diamond Jubilee...it will put any St Paddy's (plastic paddy's) to shame. That's when the English do things well.

Um ... Because they want to have some fun?

We get done for flaunting our flag,

When was this, then?

The celebration of the Saint’s days was mainly a Catholic tradition, so the Irish embraced the celebration of their saint day whilst here in England we've never really bothered. Nowadays the marketing people have managed to get their claws into our culture and tradition I wouldn't feel surprised if St Carling St George’s day celebrations do start to take off around the country.

Personally, I'd move our national celebration day to something more tangible and English. Shakespeare was born and died on the same date of different years, so I'd move our celebrations over to that day instead.

This country doesn't have its own day. We haven't been a Catholic nation since 1552.

Many times on St.Georges day the police have been involved in celebrations and made people take flags down. Try reading at the time.

Rubbish, under what law are people prohibited to fly the English flag? During the World Cup there are thousands of them.
