An Owls poster claims the Owls have an easier run in than the Blades.....

I'd strongly disagree.

Here they both are

Blades

Sheff Utd v Tranmere Sat 17 Mar

Notts County v Sheff Utd Tue 20 Mar

Sheff Utd v Chesterfield Wed 28 Mar

Hartlepool v Sheff Utd Sat 31 Mar

Sheff Utd v Bournemouth Sat 7 Apr

Show

Rochdale v Sheff Utd Tue 10 Apr

Sheff Utd v Leyton Orient Sat 14 Apr

MK Dons v Sheff Utd Sat 21 Apr

Sheff Utd v Stevenage Sat 28 Apr

May 2012

Exeter v Sheff Utd Sat 5th May

Owls

Sat 17 15:00 A Notts County

Tue 20 19:45 H Walsall

Sat 24 15:00 A Leyton Orient

Sat 31 12:45 H Preston

Sat 7 12:30 A Huddersfield

Mon 9 12:45 H Oldham

Sat 14 15:00 A Colchester

Sat 21 15:00 H Carlisle

Sat 28 15:00 A Brentford

Sat 5 15:00 H Wycombe

Both teams have 5 home and away games remaining.

The Blades have 4 relatively easy home ties, and Stevenage too.

The Owls have 3 relatively easy home ties and Carlisle and PNE.

Both teams have yet to travel to Notts County, which is a tricky tie for both.

The Blades have 3 away ties we should be winning and also MK dons too.

The Owls have (IMO) no away ties where you think they 'yeah, we will win that'... maybe Leyton at a push, but it's still a hard place to go.

Wedneday have Huddersfield, Brentford and Colchester to play away I would'nt call that an easier run in than Uniteds.

Huddersfield have a lot of away games coming up and have Wednesday and Charlton to play.

Looking at the whole run ins I think Uniteds is by far better than Wednesdays and slightly better than Huddersfields, it's just an opinion and only time will tell.

I'll be disappointed if we don't win all of our remaining home fixtures. United should win all of theirs too. Only Stevenage looks difficult, and I wasn't that impressed with them at Hillsborough. We just had a bad night.

So, it comes down to away form for me. United have the easier games on paper. Wednesday can win any of their away matches, but won't win all of them.

It is all a matter of holding your nerve really. I'll be happy with a play off place, because I think we've got a mentally strong squad. Automatic would be nice though, overtaking United with a 95th minute winner against Wycombe:)
