mart Posted March 13, 2012 Author Posted March 13, 2012 OK, crate sorted. Zadoc has kindly helped me out, and a very efficient service too, reliable, punctual and very helpful guy! (Thanks). I`m sorted with a Whippet pup now. Do I put the pup`s food & drink inside the crate or outside the crate?
vwkittie Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Congrats on the puppy, we'd all love to see pics I put food and water bowl outside of the crate when mine was little. She always had water down but was fed at set times only to help with toilet training. I fed outside on the kitchen floor as she was a messy eater and I didn't want all the crumbs in her bed! I think you can get some sort of clip on water bowl that can go inside a crate if you want, a regular bowl would probably just end up getting tipped over and making the bed soggy! I didn't put water inside though as really they shouldn't be in the the crate for too long at a time anyway. A tasty treat for the puppy when he goes in the crate is a good idea though and will help to teach him to go in without any hassle and see it as a positive thing. When mine was a puppy if I got the treats out of the cupboard she would run into the crate thinking she'd get one
