Location114 Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 So people ive got a question for you regarding the new ipad. So the gadget show quotes it as a quad core processor. The official apple website quotes it as a dual core processor with quad core graphics. Question is realistically WHAT is the difference?

*Wallace* Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Its true tho,you get a sharper image on the screen with the new one,its faster and of course its 4G,Ipad 2's screen is pretty good to start with its never been exactly slow and will 4G fulfill its potential ?
anywebsite Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 4G isn't available in this country yet, wont be for a while & wont work on this version of the iPad, that's a USA only feature. They're also confusing the 4G standard, like some of the US phone networks are & calling what Europeans would usually say is 3G+ 4G. LTE is the real 4G technology. To confuse the issue some US carriers & Apple are calling HSPA, which is a slower standard that we already use '4G'. Other US carriers are using LTE, but at frequencies that would clash with freeview over here, the new iPad supports that version of LTE on those US frequencies, but that can't work in Europe, even when we do finally get LTE. This article explains it: http://www.slashgear.com/new-ipad-4g-lte-little-use-outside-of-north-america-08217470/ So you'll be able to get the fastest possible currently available mobile internet connection, but it wont be 4G, because that's not available yet. When 4G is available here, you wont be able to use it on your new iPad. Even if you visit the US, you'll be roaming on AT&T, they don't have proper 4G either. It might have 4G hardware, but it's the wrong kind, so you'll never be able to use it. It might even say it's connecting at '4G' & give you the little icon, but it's lying. It'll be next year's version or the year after's that will be the proper 4G iPad, if they're still making them in 2 years.
