KONY 2012 Cover the Night SHEFFIELD

Recommended Posts

Hhmm im not sure, if youve watched the video, they asked the US gorvernment for help and they werent to fussed and had nothing to do with them. This is a good way forward, it should start with this guy then others to follow, such as Mugabe.. Do you have any other suggestions to avoid 'littering the city'?

Somehow I think camping outside a church is out of fashion..

They have got the hugely popular video, the t-shirts and bracelets which are a good way of making a point, put I see it if they do this cover the night idea, its going to cost us a lot of money to clean it up again.. I see it as a pointless task.

Its bizzare that this has spread so much very recently, the organisation and the cause has been around for several years.

Arguments about how much of the money is spent on good causes aside, it is reported that he isn't even in Uganda anymore, and has very few followers.

Its very concerning that so many people seem to be promoting a video that is in effect calling for western military intervention against these groups. Its a dangerous form of neo-colonialism that will only result in more violence.

Would that still be the case if, say, 30,000 kids had been abducted and forced into becoming soldiers (with much greater force than used to get smokers outside, here), and some Ugandans arrived to try and help prevent the abduction of said kids?

The case would be this is all over the news in the UK, not so much in Uganda, its just run of the mill for them. This is the annoying thing, countries tend to only help out when it benefits them, this video doesnt just highlight what needs to be done in Uganda, but sounds like its the start of something new to actually iron out other issues rather than ignoring problems in the world.

Nothing. Obviously the best thing to do is just ignore all the injustice because there's just so much of it.

Even if you are being sarcastic, that's exactly the correct thing to do. Interefering in the internal affairs of other countries inevitably leads to wars that cause more loss of life than if you hadn't interfered in the first place.

Aye. That's exactly why the world's leading war-mongers set up the International Criminal Court

Kony and his Army are by all accounts very close to defeat and not even in Uganda, Congo I think.

Interesting that the US has sent, albeit a small delegation of US soldiers over there, when it has been known for many years about Kony, and indeed atrocities carried out in various African countries. is it coincidence that there is oil and other natural resources in Uganda ???

Also the guy that has released this viral has a movie coming out at the end of the year. could all just be coincidence though

I agree with that. Although they look like they're doing some good, some further investigation is needed.

Is it possible to get as many people as possible together, posters, flyers, stickers, meet in city centre, gather as one and start a mission of spreading the name do you think?

Nice to see that one of the organisers has made an appearance ;)
