Use Sheffield train station ??? Be careful a young guy I know was mugged there this morning by 3 guys on the bridge at about 8.45 am this morning.

Shame on those who ignored him when he was shouting for help! I know people are wary of stepping in to help as they are scared but they could have at least alerted staff!

You can't really say shame on people for not stepping in against 3 guys. 1 maybe 3 no.

Like I said, I understand that - but they could have alerted staff at the station, no one did.

.....and they could have done what? They wouldn't have been in a position to intervene either.

I assume it has been reported to the police.

I assume that they are checking and reviewing the cctv footage.

Tragic as the incident was the focus should be about catching the culprits who did it rather than spouting about what bystanders did or didn't do - particuarly if you were not there yourself seeing it with your own eyes.

Sorry to hear your mate got mugged. Shame nobody stepped in at that time in the morning, not like the place was deserted. Do you have descriptions of the perps?

As others said, this incident should have been captured on CCTV. If British Transport Police are informed, then they might be able to identify the culprits from the images? (hopefully, anyway!)

Alerted staff that an attack was taking place on their premises, alerted staff who could have come to help. I am not in any way saying that bystanders should have intervened at all but let me tell you they did absolutely nothing, no one gave an absolute damn as he was robbed. I hope you can take your point of view when if this happened to someone you know.

I sometimes use the station about this time in a morning and it is usually quite busy crossing the bridge. I can't say if I'd have intervened as that would have depended on now I saw it, but I'd like to think I'd have tried to help. It isn't a spot or time I'd expect to encounter muggers because it's so bright and busy.
