Megson sacked - confirmed

Recommended Posts

This situation reminds me of us and warnock a few years back.

Football wise not liked by everyone , the chairman allowed warnock to go which in many eyes was a huge mistake ( since then McCabe has stated he's made mistakes which I think this was one ) and ultimately in my eyes cost us an immediate return to the prem.

The similarities are there for all to see that's why I stated in my opinion a huge mistake by MM.

I believe MM has made a huge mistake in releasing Megson. It's not everyday you get a fan managing his local team.

Under Megson Wednesday have done what has been asked of him & moved the team up a level where we had a reasonable chance of promotion, on a very limited outlay of transfere cash.

He has moved well in the loan market, but MM has restricted the amount of cash to purchase quality players.

It is now obvious with the players reaction on Sunday after the goal, that they were aware of what was to happen.

If the loan players had any bottle, they would move back their respective clubs out of respect for Megson. They have no loyalty to Wednesday, but would prove a point that players can have loyalty to a good manager.

This decision to get rid of Megson has been made purely & simply on business grounds. If we don't get promotion this season MM will not get the cash return when he sells Wednesday in the close season.

I wish MM well for the future, which I think will be at Rangers.

In the meantime, he will not get my cash for the season tickets I was going to purchase for myself & two grand kids.

Well done Mego - now go to a decent club.

First time Rangers have been mentioned...........could it be?

Would never give up my day job Jim, pays too much mate.

I am only telling you what he said, just like McCabe saying that dropping out of the Championship had cost SUFC in lost TV revenues, etc., MM had said that not going up had cost him 7 million. He was interviewed recently saying he had was in for 20 million this season.

Just because he said it doesn't make it true.

If my mate tips me a horse at 10/1 and I say yeah I'll stick a tenner on it and then forget to put the bet on, the horse comes in then I go round telling anyone who wants to listen that my forgetfulness has cost me a £100. Few people would argue with that but it's not really cost me anything has it? I'm no worse off.

So how can MM's £20m investment increase to £27m by not going up?

Got the Shocking news last night from my brother that Gary Megson as been sacked at Sheffield Wednesday,an then it was confirmed on Radio Sheffield presenter Paul Walker commentating at the Blades game,Gary was Fully commited to Wednesday an loved the fans, but something as caused Megson an Mandric to fall out,an i thinks its Mr Mandric for not backing Megson in the Januay Transfer Window, as the fans thought that Ben Marshall was going to sign for the Owls but missed out on getting him,an there was no other money available to buy a alterenative players,as Mandric was in Court over Taxes,Megson interview after the United victory showed to people that this was Megsons last game an the Players reaction to scoring an at the End of the Game knew this was Megsons last game,an as now made the Fans Godsmacked an Very Angry

Probably for the same reasons that he stated earlier. He will have budgeted for an income that he is not getting from his forecast.

No idea mate, I just remember him saying that, and then saying recently he had invested 20 million in the club to date. If no promotion costs 7 million then he could be into SWFC for 27 million by the end of the season, so maybe you are right, maybe he will go for broke?

Today he is £20m down.

If he gets promotion he is £13m down.

If he doesn't get promotion he is still £20m down.

That only works if moneys received equals money paid out. If he says that it cost him 7 million, due to missing gate recipts, etc, then he is funding the gap in income, same as KM at SUFC.
