Helicopter Carrying Something Over Woodhead ?

On friday and today (sunday) i seen a helicopter carrying something under it on like a long rope, anyone seen this aswell or know what it was doing ?

 

Seemed strange seeing it twice in space of a few days

Lots of work goes on in the National Park that involves airlifting materials to places inaccessible by road.

 

They may have been carrying in stone for footpath restoration work, for example.

I came back from manchester this afternoon ,and the Helicopter was hovering over a field with what looked like a big water sack hanging below it , but they were signs of them burning the scrub off ,as there were various fires and amounts of smoke just up from the Dog and Partridge pub on the sheffield side of the woodhead.
