Open-ended question, you can spend thousands and still need more or you could change a few cheap things and have no issues.

 

Every problem is different and needs the correct solution.

What would you expect to pay for damp proofing? Can you just have the walls done which are showing damp or all of them? Any recommendations?

 

Get three firms in and compare what they tell you (and don't tell any of them what previous firms have said). Alternatively you can hire an independent surveyor to diagnose (though then it won't be free, but on the other hand you know they are not also selling the product that fixes what they diagnose....)

 

Cost would depend on how much work is needed, so it's impossible to tell you a price on here.

Have you inspected the wall on the outside ? It may be the cement filling between the bricks have dropped out and wall needs re-pointing.

Can you reccomend a damp proof specialist? Have some issues of rising damp and mould in a semi detached house.

I have used Precision Damp proofing several years ago, and no sign of the damp since. So I was happy with their work.

Sounds to me like you have a leak (as opposed to a damp problem).

Can anyone recommend anyone who can deal with damp problems? Noticing damp patch on wall in the attic room which is affecting the ceiling to the room directly below slightly. I believe that it caused by rain water leaking through external wall but by no means an expert.
