Having a coffee in a fairly busy Costa. Quite busy in the car park too. What a shame not all units are in use. Where are you Matalan, M&S food, Boots/ Superdrug  etc?

I go to Dunelms for a coffee. No queue, brighter and a lot quieter.

I'll  go along with that , it's  a lovely clean cafe but I don't  think many realise that Dunhelms  have got a cafe upstairs and there's  a lift too.

I wonder effect what the proposed retail park opposite the Wednesday ground will have on Kilner Way.

A couple of drive thru food/drink units... an Aldi/Lidl store and other units.

Apart from the added traffic in the area, will it house more empty units ?

Been up there today and noticed Tesco have put an application in for the empty unit next to the gym. Sure it will take the money in there, but not the kind of store that I would have hoped for. At least its not another bargain store I suppose.

From what I remember that's now home bargains. It's across on the same side as TK Maxx and dunelm. Didn't look like a particularly large unit.

It might be.  They have a discount supermarket brand called Jacks.   That would just be the right size for that.

See the one they have in Barnsley as an example.

Oh yes I did know about them. The licensing hours were 0600-2300 I believe, so I guessed at one of their convenience stores like they have in wisewood.

Anything is better than an empty unit though, I suppose.

The Tesco store mooted for Kilner Way is their bargain supermarket branded 'Jacks'

Poundland is closing down their store and moving next door to the Argos. (Into the store they used to occupy). Opens this Saturday.
