Clothes optional doncaster dome

Recommended Posts

With due respect to Plain Talker, the above two posts demonstrates the case that very sadly and unfortunately, sauna culture and attitudes towards nudity here in the UK is light years apart compared to Germany, Holland, and some other European countries.

Germany and Holland - spas are unisex and swimwear prohibited. Because it's considered unhygenic to be wearing clothing in saunas and steam rooms. The most practical, hygenic, and beneficial way to enjoy saunas/steam rooms is to be wearing absolutely nothing. Nothing to do with naturism whatsoever. Works beautifully without problems. Most spas in these countries has a balanced mix of sexes.

UK - It is very much the norm that people wear swimwear in saunas and steam rooms. And in the vast vast vast majority of unisex spas it is the rule that swimwear must be worn. The vast majority of British persons would think it absolutely unthinkable to go nude in a unisex spa! Even if it's a clothing optional spa where wearing swimwear is allowed, many of these people would still not want to see other people nude using the facilities. Many people here in the UK can't seem to seperate nudity and sex.

Basically this means that those of us in the UK who DO wish to enjoy a spa session without wearing anything and would far prefer to do so in a unisex enviornment are very much in a minority. And there are literally hardly any suitable venues atall to goto. It's a crap situation. :(

What we need is for purpose built unisex textile-free or clothing optional spas to open in the UK. Those people who do not wish to go nude in a unisex spa and those people who do not wish to see other nude people should can just avoid those spas. And I don't think it's too much to ask for for existing spas to implement just say a 3 or 4 hour session per week where the sessions are mixed and clothing optional(or even textile-free). The people who prefer to wear swimwear and do not wish to see nude people in a spa are more than well catered for. Let's at least have some unisex spas for those of who who prefer to not wear anything. That would be a major step forward. But sadly chances are very slim.
