Cece30 Â Â 10 #14 Posted July 14, 2012 Between April and September, saying that though we have gone camping in August and it rained the whole week we were there, on the other hand we once spent a glorious sun filled week camping in October
 Share this content via...

larde   10 #16 Posted September 2, 2012 It's not that much of a silly question, when you are new to camping.  Personally, I will go camping whether it's sub zero or the midst of summer. Obviously, not everyone is keen on sub zero temperatures and therefore like the comforts of late spring and summer months. Suppose, at the end of the day, it all comes down to what you want from your camping.  As you are new to camping, I would suggest giving it a go during the warmer months initially and then decide from there. If you are going to be miserable, then you might as well do it whilst being warm  totally agree but if its your first time id go end of september the midges and horse flies are not as bad  best times are spring summer autum winter
 Share this content via...
Halibut   12 #17 Posted September 2, 2012 Never mind the temperature - it's rain you need to worry about.  Avoid camping in the rain at all costs, it's generally crap.
 Share this content via...
wooler123 Â Â 10 #18 Posted September 20, 2012 I guess it depends on the type of weather you are comfortable with normally, I don't like really hot or really cold weather so late spring and early autumn are my favourite times of year. I find it unbearable in a tent in very hot weather and am a total pain in the a**e until it cools down, I cope with cold a little better. Another consideration is the length of days, I can get pretty bored in the evening when it goes dark early, unless you have electric hook up or intend to go to the pub every evening the nights can be long especially if you have kids and/or it is raining.
