Looking at getting a vw touran we tow a caravan so any info would be appreciated thanks

Petrols only pull around 1200kgs, Diesels more

Worth getting it in writing from the manufacturer, though.

 

My wife's car won a 'European Towing Car of the Year' award.

 

In the UK, it can tow 2000Kg. In the US and Canada, the manufacturer's max towing capacity is 1500 Kg.

 

BUT in the US and Canada, Hitch weights are 10% of the towed weight.

 

The maximum tongue weight permitted for the vehicle is 70Kg.

 

So it can tow 700Kg.

 

Not quite the same as 2000Kg, but pretty close.
