Jimbob1974   10 #1 Posted January 18, 2012 Hi  Has anyone used the recycle clothes shop on Richmond road Handsworth. Does anyone know where the clothes go. Always worried these shops just take clothes look for the good stuff that can sell on ebay and then throw the rest out in a skip!!  Or do they send clothes on to charities etc? If so where do they get the money from to pay us for the bags of clothes?  Cheers
 Share this content via...
Leah-Lacie   10 #2 Posted January 18, 2012 http://www.recycleshops.co.uk/about_recycle.php  It says they pass them on to Textile recycling companies, who pack and send them to 3rd world countries - These companies probably pay Recycle, I should think. No idea where the money comes from though!
 Share this content via...

ChrisT70 Â Â 10 #4 Posted January 18, 2012 there is profit for them somewhere as its a commercial enterprise with rate and rents etc to pay. i saw a guy emptying a charity collection skip into a tranny van last week , didnt look genuine! Jimbob1974 Â Â 10 #5 Posted January 18, 2012 this is what i am worried about. Think will take the no cash option and hand direct to the charity shop for the clothes and put the trainers and shoes in one of those charity bins. Â Thanks
 Share this content via...

Clown Shoes   10 #9 Posted April 18, 2013 Why not take them to the British heart foundation shop at gleadless  Because the recycle shops offer £5 for 10 kilos of clothes.  Thats why i said that people have reported clothes going missing from washing lines last summer
 Share this content via...
atlex48 Â Â 10 #10 Posted April 19, 2013 I gave a bicycle to someone who said that their own bike had been stolen. A week later I found out that he had sold it for ten pounds ( it cost a lot more ) but I realise that there are people worse off than me.
