flashbang   10 #1 Posted January 15, 2012 Hi, I hope I'm posting this in the right section.  My son (adult) has had a bad cold for a couple of weeks. He said his left ear felt as though it had water in it and he couldnt hear as well as normal. The doctor said it could be an infection caused by the cold and prescribed antibiotics, he has been taking them for a week now but the symptoms are still there. My son went on the internet and read this could cause permanent damage to the ear and cause deafness.  Has anyone else on here had the same symptoms as my son, and has there been any permanent damage to hearing?
