iansheff   83 #433 Posted July 6, 2012 (edited) I have a joint outbuilding that is approx 12 foot by 6 foot that has a flat roof that is leaking. Would like it recovering but I would also like it lifted at one side just so there is a fall for any water to run off. Anyone a rough idea on cost, I believe it would need new plywood but the main timbers are ok. HappyCampers   10 #442 Posted October 24, 2012 ok a slightly old thread but worth a post  we are after a roofer/builder. Initially we need some lead work (no we dont want fibreglass or rubber etc thanks as it is an older house ). If that is ok then we are looking to have some roof changes done and then more extensive building work done (once we get the money together)  we had a couple of quotes, picked the one we liked (not the cheapest) but now they dont seem to want the work (or maybe they didnt like the look of us?)  It did occur to me that a builders maybe don't like to do a bit of roofing work on its own, but how come it is so hard to get tradesman to turn up - be easier if they just said "no" at the quoting stage . . . ok grumble over
 Share this content via...
mogwai84 Â Â 10 #443 Posted November 19, 2012 Hi, Â We need some quotes for someone to do the following jobs: Â - replace a few slates - re-point a couple of chimney breasts and the edges of the roof - potentially fit a fascia to the front of the house - clear out the gutters - replace some wood that is rotted on the side of a flat-roof - check if there are any other problems while up there! Â The re-pointing is the main job I think. Looking for a few quotes which will obviously determine when we can afford to go ahead (hopefully soon) Â Thanks
 Share this content via...
