berties_ears   10 #1 Posted January 11, 2012 All the lights in my house have been flickering intermittently for the past 3 or 4 nights. My parents live nearby and have had a similar issue. We live in Grenoside - anyone know why this is happening?
 Share this content via...

HeadingNorth   11 #4 Posted January 11, 2012 Who, nowadays, is responsible for the upkeep of the actual physical cables that carry electricity to properties?  I'd want to be in contact with them to see if there's any known problem, and if there isn't I would strongly advise getting an electrician in to diagnose the issue. I don't feel comfortable with anything electrical showing signs of being faulty.
 Share this content via...

I don't feel comfortable with anything electrical showing signs of being faulty.  YEDL or Northern power grid as they will shortly be called 0800375675  Sounds like you have a neutral fault developing....they won't do anything until it pop's and blow's various appliance's in your home.  Then they will deny it's their fault.  Then you jump up and down on the phone and then they will fix the damage. danot   10 #6 Posted January 11, 2012 The lights and TV in my house flicker simultaneously every few seconds, sometimes they turn off completely leaving me in total darkness. It's weird. Also, every time they turn themselves on again, if I yawn, the volume on the TV mutes itself. How weird is that?
 Share this content via...

danot   10 #8 Posted January 11, 2012 Stop blinking and yawning!  That's a good idea!. I'd say that's the best advice I've been given since telling a friend about getting sharp stabbing pains in my eyes whenever I drink something hot. I now know not to leave the spoon in the cup.
