Hi Guys,

I am thinking of renting my flat in sheffiled. I have blundells, winkworth and martin and co

I am inclined toward martin co with their charges/all assurance and their customer service. I guess they do the same for thier tenants so be nice to them and ...

what are you suggestions and any experience with them

Thanks buddies

I'm on the receiving end of their "great" customer service. It's a joke.

Fortunately I can contact the landlord direct to sort out any problems I have. I'd look elsewhere, and have a look on reviewcentre website to get a real flavour for their service, or lack there of.

be aware of the ripoffs! they should charge one months rent all in some now charge one months rent plus... They should sort out the contract and put the bond in a holding account(because Landlords are not trusted to return the bond in full) good luck!

I would recommend Countrywide/Mike Jolly Estates, I have a couple of properties that I rent out neither of which has ever been empty for more than a month. They have a branch on Oakbrook rd in Nether Green and one in Rotherham city center.

I have recently had a bad experience with Martins as a potential tenant. It's a long & laborious story, but if you want chapter and verse please send me a message to my email box. Briefly, found property, paid their extortionate tenants search fee, and proceeded to plan our move.

Close to our requested moving date they told me that the landlord could not come personally to do things needing attention before we moved in, so we would have to move a week later. That was no good for us, but Martins seemed to be either unwilling or more likely unable to get us in when we needed to be, and did not handle to situation well at all. (by the way, our search was clean, so we were not the problem).

Was the landlord partly the problem, yes I think so, I cannot understand any landlord in this climate who cannot make arrangements to get people into his property when they need to be, why not get the letting agent supply cleaners, etc or he could get someone in himself?

The upshot was, we ended up living in a property that really isnt what we wanted, lost our search fee, and the landlord I saw a few weeks later, had his property listed with another agent.

The last time I saw his property advertised he was offering 2 weeks free rent to get someone in. That was 2 months after I was supposed to move in.

So, he's lost money hand over fist, Martins lost a landlord, and we lost our search fee, and our chosen home.

Presonally I would not retain them, but that's just my opinion, I'm sure there must be a good letting agent in this area somewhere. I will be watching this thread to see what names come up, as we will be moving again....soon.

Archers Estate Agents.

I believe they are a family run business. I use them, service is always fantastic! Out of all the letting agents I have ever used they are by far the best.
