Pure quality! And spot-on! But it's far too good for Hislop, surely?!  StarSparkle
 Share this content via...
ToryCynic   10 #75 Posted December 8, 2005 Originally posted by JonJParr I absolutely agree with you Kentboy, churning out so many graduates every year in non-traditional subjects only serves to devalue what a University degree in a traditional academic subject is worth. Unfortunately this does sound incredibly pompous, but the truth of the matter is that a degree from a red brick University is much harder to achieve than one from a polytechnic - that's why the entry requirements are much higher.  Decided to not veer off topic, and send a PM.
 Share this content via...
AtticusFinch   10 #76 Posted December 8, 2005 I'd never vote Cameron because he's a tory. Even if he is a nice bloke, the rest of his party are exactly the same as they've always been. William Hague, who warned that Britain was becoming a "foreign land" and who fought the 2001 election under "keep the pound" is back in the shadow cabinet.  I wouldn't vote labour either though. Even though I tend to drift towards more socialist policies, true socialism doesn't exist any more, and labour are just conservatives mark II. They also went to war in Iraq, which loses them my vote for at least a decade.  Traditionally I'm a Liberal voter, but Charles Kennedy is considering watering down his plans for a 50% tax rate on the rich, which to me is just opportunism. I may vote green next time, but the older I get, the more I come to the conclusion that all politicians are corrupt, lying hypocrites. I don't trust any of them, so I'm considering not voting any more.
 Share this content via...

I would be insulted if I was female/ethnic by the concept that I needed a leg up to overcome supposed prejudice thats only really in the minds of those making the rules, rather than selection on quality/ability.. HateTesco   10 #80 Posted December 29, 2005 Proof is a difficult thing...i.e., it will be interesting to see how many variations of Samantha Cameron's tatoo we hear about before the next election: the last I heard was she had an 'e' on her ankle, which is either a drug reference or her shoe size! HateTesco   10 #81 Posted November 1, 2006 Recursion, mmm and interesting conjugation of recurr...a bit like Samantha Cameron's tatoos, or to quote Billy Bragg: "when they offer you a picture of stockings and suspenders and stiffer penalties for sex offenders." Superlative   10 #82 Posted November 1, 2006 Cameron chosen as new Tory leader  http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/4502652.stm  Is this a good thing or a bad thing? What do the faithful conservative voters here in Sheffield think? Also what do the Labour and Lib Dems think about this new young leader who has already been dubbed "Tory Blair".
