A little appeal for a little Lady lost at Xmas

Holly the little ferret found herself in a spot of trouble over the Christmas holidays, somehow on Christmas day she found herself all alone in a big cold world with no one to care for her, no warm bed and no food for ages, she was cold and desperately starving so she bumbled along (as she is old and blind) until she smelt warmth and mmm chicken.

so in she bumbled and hid in the warm straw hoping to eat chicken...the chickens did not oblige however and appear to have given her a bit of a beating

A kind Lady went to feed her rather upset chickens (in between cooking her Christmas turkey) and saw a little pink nose poking out of the straw, she saw that Holly was alone and very hungry so she put her in a cat basket and gave her some food, after Boxing day the little ferret went to stay with people that like ferrets for a while until her owners could be found...but the people were shocked to see Holly, because either the hens or another animal had attacked her quite badly, they were also shocked to see that she was blind, so they knew that she needed help quickly.

The people asked Rainrescue for help and right away were told to take Holly to a vet and not to worry they would make everything alright, which Rainrescue did, Little Holly had antibiotics and is having her wounds bathed several times a day, this has obviously cost Rainrescue, but it has saved Holly's life.

The people with Holly want to ask the good people that use the pet group if they would donate just something, if its just a pound to help to pay for animals great and small (even as small as Holly) to get the help that they need and to save more lives...not all creatures had a warm loving home and their share of the turkey this year, lets give them something as well, money is tight but even a tiny bit makes a big difference.

Thank you for reading, love from Holly :)

Thank you all that would like to help pets like this.

Anyone who wants to donate towards looking after this little girl - can email admin@rainrescue.co.uk - send us your postal address and we can send you a sponsorship form out - then you can set up a standing order. The money doesn't have to be a lot - every penny adds up and the more people who donate and just pay a bit in regularly - means we have funds to be always there to help a pet in crisis.

We at Rain offer help and guidance to people who are having to rehome their own pets - but who can continue to look after them - or find family who can help. What we want to always be there for - is pets who have absolutely NOBODY to help them as this little lady didn't.

Thank you to Moonbird for standing up and saying 'I will help you little one' We want to be able to be behind people that do that - but we need money - hard cash - to back those promises up.

Thanks everyone who offers to help us do so.

Aww, that looks really sore poor thing. I can make a donation at the end of the month. I have just paid £90 to have one of my fur-babies cremated :( Good on everyone who helped out, it may be little but it's still a life worth saving! :)

It is very sore...it is just a little life, but ferrets live their little lives to the full, they are the happiest most joyful little warriors ever, now Holly has the chance to live out the rest of her days as they were intended :)

So sorry that you have lost one of your little ones :( x

Smudge - thats fine, -= you help when you can and what you can - and have helped lots of ferals and I'm sure will continue to do so when you can.

Chezz - Talk to Lisa - number on the front of our website. She and Clive do take in alsorts for selling for Rain Rescue funds. However, at the moment, they have a few family issues to sort out - so if they don't get straight back to you - i"m sure they will when they can. Thanks for the offer though. If not, flog it on ebay and donate the cash to us? ???
