osca1 Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Does anyone know the going rate for a taxi from Sheffield to Manchester Airport and back ? It would be for 2 people so a minibus is not required, just a normal car.
Gazza58 Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 It will vary between £100 and £130 i would say.
hennypenny Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 There is a train from Sheffield to Manchester airport every hour (approx 2hrly at night), with fares from £4 if booked in advance, why would anyone want to pay a taxi?

teffey_2003 Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 said it before, but give 473 travel a try. Reliable, took 3 of us to Manchester airport in August for £95. 0114 233 6671
Forumosaurus Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 I know you want a quote for a taxi, but I urge you to reconsider. I've done both (Well not a taxi but a lift from someone in a car), and the train was much easier by a long shot for me. No stressing about traffic, train takes you straight into the airport, it's probably quicker, just better all round. Previous threads on this have had quotes around the £150 mark by taxi return but, obviously petrol prices will have gone up since then.
Smokey 1 Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 I agree with the rain idea. I have personally travelled by train to Manchester Airport with 2 kids at 4am. Very Easy run and takes you straight into the airport itself.

kidley Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 if i went by train i have to catch a taxi to the train station and the same coming back, for me anyway, door to door is by far the easiest and less hassle
ihsaan Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 I used uk-airporttransfers.com booked everything online, they collected me in a nice E Class Mercedes, fantastic experience there and back. You get what you pay for
