Speccy24 Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Ok, so I am back at work. All I have heard this morning is what a wonderful Christmas my fella worker has had. He is Sikh. I don't want to cause any offence, but I just cannot understand why he celebrates it. They don't believe in Jesus, and really it's not part of the cultural. Any Sikhs, Hindus or Muslims on here celebrate it, and care to open my mind as to why you celebrate it? I am sure their god wounldn't like them to do so. Thanks.
quisquose Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Why did you celebrate it? Jesus, even if he existed, probably wasn't born in December. I'm an agnostic atheist but I always celebrate Christmas.

Jeffrey Shaw Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Why do Muslims/HinDUs/Sikhs celebrate christmas? The individuals might or might not; but their faiths do not and so they should not.
taxman Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 The birth of Santa is an occasion to be celebrated by religious and non-religious types together.
wednesday1 Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 I'm also an atheist but I still believe in the religious aspect of Christmas. I'm an atheist but I believe in the intoxicant aspect of Christmas.

Jeffrey Shaw Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 PLUS not all Christians do, either! Xmas was abolished by Oliver Cromwell. See http://uk.ask.com/web?q=christmas+%22oliver+cromwell%22&sm=adv&advc=de&dm=adv&qsrc=66&o=0&l=dir&siteid=0

wornout53 Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 SOME people of other faiths celebrate Christmas.....and Muslims do in fact recognise Jesus and his birth so why should they not join in with the celebrations?
