AJ sheffield Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 Well done please accept three brownie points and a free pint . Thank you, mind you a month later and they are back with a vengeance, I heard a surveillance camera was put there but was nicked too. BTW I accept brownie points, just not the SF ones.
ghost rider Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 You should be pointing the finger at the people who are really to blame for the explosion in fly tipping.............. THE COUNCIL. They are the ones who have banned large vans from using the dump it sites ,meaning some people have little choice in how to dispose of rubbish. You can get a permit to dispose of waste in a van at the recycling centres. If its trade waste you need a licence to carry it and dispose of it.You can book the day before to take a trailer which i have done at no cost.I understand its not expensive to obtain these permits and licences. No excuse for fly tipping anybody caught deserves all they get.
Penistone999 Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 , it's just that it has a cost attached to it. Exactly ..............there lies the problem. the council , with its policy of banning large vans from the tips , has basically said MR A can dispose of his old washer free of charge as he drives a CAR and will be allowed in the tip ,but his next door neighbour MR B has to pay to dispose of his old washer because he drives a long wheelbase VAN. by having such unequal rules based on the vehicle someone drives ,this expolsion in fly tipping was only to be expected. Afterall , why should MR B have to pay just because of his choice of vehicle ?

Afterall , why should MR B have to pay just because of his choice of vehicle ? As has already been stated, this was not a large van, and for the record it was not long wheel based. What they dumped had clearly come from a shop or similar, so it was not household waste either.

I would guess that they think large vans are used by a tradesman and not familys.Tradesmen used to dispose of trade waste by pretending it was household that has caused it to happen.
NewBiz Posted December 28, 2011 Author Posted December 28, 2011 Yes well done. Thank you It does seem, thank God, that most people feel fly tipping is unacceptable. I guess there are always those forummers that think committing crimes and fouling up beautiful countryside is to be applauded, but they are at least in the minority.
eastbank Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 well done, these people need fining big style. they'll drive miles out of the way to dump stuff and ruin the country side to avoid a few quid charges at most at a tip. the reason they fly tip....is people pay them peanuts to shift the stuff and dont care where it ends up....at present it costs about £60 to dispose of a van load of household waste.... yet people are prepared to shift stuff for twenty quid....where does that go

However people seem to find the money to buy the things they want, but don't seem to understand there's a cost attached to disposing of their waste. The cost is both financial and environmental.
