ElasticMan   10 #49 Posted December 28, 2011 But this is just a tiny usb device, no monitor, no mouse, no keyboard. I told you i don't get it.  No - this IS the computer.  You plug the monitor, mouse and keyboard into it.
 Share this content via...

upinwath   10 #51 Posted December 28, 2011 Where's the hard drive, and don't tell me it's onboard graphics only.  Its not designed to be a high spec machine. Its designed to be cheap and available to anyone. Hard drive? There's an SD card slot for starters and 2 USB ports. I can see a potential for a bit of storage there.  The moment I can get one, I will. Probably two or three. My language lab can have one, my upstairs TV gets another as a cheap media player and one to mess around with or just pop on the downstairs TV, networked to everything else, including a hard drive.  What was that about storage? I was watching a youtube video about it, You can still watch full HD films on it.
 Share this content via...
upinwath   10 #56 Posted December 28, 2011 This has so much potential, it could be massive. Let's hope they get the backing to get it into mass production. I know schools in poor villages will love this one.
 Share this content via...
RootsBooster   24 #57 Posted December 28, 2011 Looks good to me too. Years ago I did a Visual Basic course, can't remember any of it now though. Wondering if this might be able to get be back into coding a little.  If not, like Upinwath and others have said, still lots of great uses for such a low price. John   11 #58 Posted December 29, 2011 I'll get one as soon as someone posts a step by step guide on building a MAME machine using this device.
 Share this content via...
altus   540 #59 Posted December 29, 2011 I'll get one as soon as someone posts a step by step guide on building a MAME machine using this device.  The whole point of them is to encourage people to tinker and discover that sort of thing for themselves.  I suppose you could get one for a 12 year old and get them to figure it out for you.
