ricgem2002 Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 they dont mind telling people who are signing on that they might have to travel upto an hour away (to get a job) but dont want to do it themselves
Hushai Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Cuts in public sector jobs are nothing new now. They have been going on since the present government took control. Many of the people who are losing their jobs voted for them and are merely reaping what they sewed.
andygardener Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 they dont mind telling people who are signing on that they might have to travel upto an hour away (to get a job) but dont want to do it themselves Exactly. The hypocracy is stunning.

0742Sheff Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 “We have been told that many people whose jobs will go from the corporate division are likely to be offered redeployment within the department at places such as job centres - but these could be up to an hour’s journey away.” A mate of mine has recently been told he has to apply for a temporary job in Bakewell. It is going to take him a lot more than an hour on public transport if he gets the job.
