How can I check if someone's getting HB?

I'm wanting to rent a house out and don't mind if the person is getting HB, but I want to know how to check if they are, and how long it'll take for me to get the money through.

 

Also, can it be paid straight to my account?

 

I've tried using the PRS thing on the other tjhread but they've had my house for a week now and I've not heard a thing (I thought there was meant to be a shortage of social housing!)

It can take over 8 weeks for it to be sorted, and it can be paid direct to you under certain conditions.

However, most landlords will not take people on HB, my oh and myself both only work part time, so would be entitled to HB, but the landlords we have approached wont entertain the idea.

Do it through a letting agent who will do all the checks on the prospective renter.There will be a months rental in advance as security to cover any damage or whatever.
