TAT Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Am sure one of the financial experts the Owls have on here will help you out ! Salmonbones or Titanic at a guess. SEEMs a hell of a lot of charity in the form of debt "write offs"...
scoobydotcom Posted December 19, 2011 Author Posted December 19, 2011 Last season, as part of the takeover strategy our operating losses were offset by the waiver of the intercompany debt (of £21.4m) and although no money changed hands, the accounting treatment saw the eventual profit reach £15.8m. In English please
Billy Casper Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Not 100% sure but it looks like we're 11 million in the black (Credit). I'm sure someone will come along and verify it all.

In English please I don't really speak accountant but I believe it says that we were operating at a loss until the larger intercompany debt was written off, leading to an annual profit as a result?
Titanic99 Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 I don't like the look of the operating loss of over 6 million to be honest! One thing that does confuse me about this though is that a big chunk of the season ticket revenue would have been after the financial year ended, so perhaps it isn't that bad. Not brilliant results, but could have been a lot worse.

Considering you lads are down to the bones already and have a few ground improvements to do how do you see Wednesday turning their loss into a profit over the next 6 months?
Robbie Loving Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 This is a thread about Owls accounts.... Do keep on topic
canadablade Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Haa, haa! Lovely stuff. That pre-tax profit of 15million includes the 21million that was written off by the Co-op Bank. Wednesday showed an operating loss of 6.8million. They have a debt of 6.4million owed to UK Football Investments, and a further 3.1million of other long term debt. What happened to the "debt-free" club? LOVELY STUFF INDEED
