ive baught an iphone second hand off a lady who said it was unlocked

ive spent the last two hours downloading i tunes and restoring the phone ( thats what it said i needed to do)

having done all this i got a message on the itunes screen saying -

"The SIM card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported.

Only compatible SIM cards from a supported Carrier may be used to activate iPhone. Please insert the SIM card that came with your iPhone or visit a supported Carrier's store to receive a replacement SIM card."

ive google searched and found on the vodafone website a post saying the phone maybe locked to the network it was purchased on

any ideas what i can do to rectify ??

Q, How do you know if someone has an iphone,

A, They tell you,

don't you get sick of the iphone bores, they say to you my phone can tell me the current exchange rate on the Moldovan Leu, what the weather is like in Buenos Aires, and what the time is in Kuala Lumpar, what can your phone do!

it makes & receives calls. it's a phone, now run along & see how the Moldovian Leu is doing against the Mongolian Scrote!!!

did you manage to get it sorted eventually, lol!!!!

Your own network may just need to send you a new sim card, if yours is an old one it may not be supported on iphones. Your carrier should do this for free

This person knows nothing. Don't listen to him.

If you have MicroSIM (Which obviously you do because a normal SIM wont fit into an iPhone) there's no need to get a replacement SIM.

A normal sized sim will go into an iPhone 3.
