Sheffields most interesting unusual special shops

Argos is unusual ,you look at a catalogue, pay for your item before you see it,then wait ages in a queue before you get it.

I understand Argos is really struggling because of internet. When you think about it it works like a forerunner of the internet anyhow, ordering up goods from a picture, only for the transaction to be completed before the goods are delivered to you by someone at the end of the mind numbing wait.

NR Bardwell. Abbeydale road.

The most fascinating shop in sheffield.

It's a great shop and there's always some sort of banter going on that makes every visit fun. They sell good stuff cheaply and there's always a few customers waiting to get served which is the sign of a successful shop.

There's not many good independent shops left in Sheffield now. The Shah is always good, the original '**** Shop' in Sheffield and a treasure trove of all ingredients for cooking curries and then there's 'Rare and Racy' on Division Street which is a Sheffield institution and has some high quality stuff.

Looking for something different, special and unusual for a gift. Which are sheffield's most interesting shops?

:hihi: Is this a serious question? Sheffield doesn't have many, if any, "interesting" shops.

We've got all the usual high street suspects crammed under one roof at Medderall - and zero in the city centre.

I think your question is far too general tbh. You have been directed so far to an electrical wholesaler on Abbeydale Road - is that the kind of thing you are looking for? (BTW - I endorse the recommendation about it being a good shop - no question) but I somehow wonder if all things electrical is what you are after?

I understood you were looking for unusual gifts? I suppose a soldering iron or a 3 pin plug adapter and Scart lead would be unusual gifts, but maybe they need to be desirable as well?

It really depends on who you are buying for and what they'd appreciate doesn't it? If someone bought my brother a set of screwdrivers he'd be gushingly appreciative - if someone bought me a set of screwdrivers I'd probably tell them to go screw themselves. DIY isn't my thing see.

Can you give us a bit more of a clue mate? Then we might be able to be more help to you with our suggestions?
