Wizzzard Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 I'm looking for some advice please, My Siamese/shorthair cat has recently started showing signs of illness and I'm unable to afford to take her to a vet to get her treated atm. I was wondering if any of you had seen symptoms similar to hers before and if you were able to recommend any natural treatments? For the last week or so she has displayed the following: - Difficulty in passing urine combined with frequent trips to the litter tray - Inner eyelids remaining partly closed. - Poo coming out and she has no idea it's happening. Not masses of it, just small nuggets left all over the house, usually where she has been relaxing. She's not lethargic, her stomach is not distended in any way and there is no blood in her poo or urine. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Evei Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 oh dear she does sound quite unwell. Can you ask a few people not to give you a christmas pressy and pay your vet bill instead?
my eyes only Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 Dont take this as a positive diagnosis, I am by no means an expert but it does sound like she has some sort of infection. If you cat is not weeing it is important to get her to the vets as quickly as you can, weeing is critical for your cat to keep the proper balance of minerals and water in her body if she can not do this, this could lead to irreversable kidney damage.
Moonbird Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 It sounds like your cat has a urine infection but it could also be other more serious things I'm afraid, she sounds quite poorly with it and will be in pain, sorry but she needs a vet!
MARY POPPINS Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 If she is struggling to pass urine, she will probably be in pain with an infection, linked with all the other things you have said this little cat definately needs to see a vet, sooner rather than later.
berlingo Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 she is obviously unwell, the inner eyelids do appear when cats are unwell, not just because of eye infections
MuteWitness Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Just get her to a vet ! they let you pay in installments as most people can't afford to pay bills in full.
