alex3659 Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 The Chelsea bubble certainly looks like it has burst. I thought their choice of manager would prove a mistake and it looks like I was right. Todays result against Wigan is a shocker.
canadablade Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 You reckon its a 2 horse Manchester race now Al ?

MAC33 Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 Surprised by the possession advantage Wigan had over Chelsea. Nothing unlucky about the result,Wigan at least deserved a draw. Anyone see that turn and sprint by Sturridge on the right wing, most amazing change of pace i've ever seen!
Dimitri 11 Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 It's looking that way. I'll be massively surprised if the title doesn't head to Manchester this year. Chelsea are in a transitional phase at the moment and while I wouldn't have got rid of Ancelotti, I think Villas-Boas needs more time. He may not turn out to be the right man for Chelsea but he has problems with the team he's got at the moment and none of them are of his making. Torres doesn't look like the same player that Liverpool had, Lampard and Drogba are past their peaks and Kalou, Malouda and Mikel are not up to the part of playing well week in week out. AVB didn't sign any of these players.

You can't blame avb when he probably wouldn't have signed any of them having said that he knew what he was getting into when chelsea waved the cash his way! But do agree defo needs a season and a full summer to change things!

But do agree defo needs a season and a full summer to change things! A top 4 finish would be a decent finish for Chelsea. They'd then get CL revenue for next season and still be able to attract quality players. It'll be interesting to see who starts up front against Spurs on Thursday. Drogba wasn't at the races against Wigan and hasn't been great for most of the season, bar a few games. If he starts it's looking ominous for Torres I reckon.
CorkerSWFC Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Chelsea need to dispose of some of the bad wood, also they have missed Michael Essien big time this season, as Mikel is just simply not good enough. I can't see the reasoning in leaving Lamps on the bench when along with Juan Mata he has been the best performer this season for me. Torres needs a good run in the side instead of playing him for one game then benching him for the next six.

I think the choice of manager was a bit hasty Corker, I have a few Chelsea fanatic pals and I predicted this would happen before the season started. Those players need a firm and I don't think he can amdminister it. Seven managers since the Special one doesn't help.

Totally agree about the manager situation m8, absolutly no need for Jose to have been ousted like he was, and to be honest I do think they should have stuck with Ancelotti. It's a bit of a rebuilding job at the Bridge at the moment with some of the consistent through the years players starting to get on.
