Worried about my dog :(

My 14 month old bitch (we were told she is a GSD cross but after a bit of research, think she may be a Belgium Malinois) was spayed on Monday. Since then, she's been very quiet. She's been sleeping a lot more than usual and won't touch her food. She just generally not herself. She went back to the vets for a check up today and he said her wound is healing well but she's having a false pregnancy. He said this is common in bitches after spaying and will pass by itself.

But i'm worried about her not eating. She seems very keen to try and eat our food and her treats, so i know she's hungry but she just won't go near her own food. (All she's had since Monday is 2 plates full of scrambled eggs and a bit of turkey. I'm trying to avoid giving her anything else to eat as i don't want her to stop eating her own food but i don't like the thought of her being hungry.) She's still very quiet and all she wants to do is cuddle up on the sofa and sleep. She's not even bothered about going out which she normally loves. Is this because of the false pregnancy? And does anybody know how long it will take before she's back to her usual self? I want my crazy, greedy, silly Jazz back!! Thanks in advance for any help and advice.

I wouldn't leave her any longer without giving her something else. When she is well and healed you can get her back to her food but now she needs something. You could always do her some pasta and fish or chicken. I always feed this after our girl is poorly or a bit off colour.

I'm afraid i know nothing about the false pregnancy so can't you there.

Keep a close eye on her and if she is still not well take her back to the vets give her some chicken and rice pasta and fish any thing she will eat till better then back to normal diet.

Mine had a false pregnancy after she had been spayed, had milk and everything. She was fine after 10 or 12 days but she as very quiet at first.

Thanks guys. She seems better today, a lot more playful and alert. She also wanted to go out for a walk. We've bought her some tinned meat and fed her on that rather than her usual dry food and she seems to be eating it without any problems. She seems to only want soft foods rather than anything crunchy for some reason. She's also been having pasta and scrambled eggs which she seems quite pleased with!
