B9 Gemini by looks of it so most likely 75 service to Sheffield as it was facing down hill. Driver of Stagecoach 88A service tonight said First bus and 4 cars involved. Road is still closed.

AmberLights Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Me and my husband were 6/7 cars behind it.. Didn't see the accident tho.. It was a double decker first and a small dark car.. But only had the view of facing down ecclesfield road, away from ecco school.. People were just getting out of their vehicles. Hope everyone involved is ok
Blue Day Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Police are appealing for information after a 34-year-old man died in a two-vehicle collision on Chapeltown Road, Ecclesfield, Sheffield last night, Friday, 16 December. At 7.05pm a blue and white double decker bus was on the A6135 Chapeltown Road, travelling from Chapeltown towards Ecclesfield on its correct side of the carriageway. The 34-year-old man was driving a white Nissan Micra and moving in the opposite direction. When the vehicles were about 50 metres from the Eccelsfield side of the junction with Crakehall Road, the Micra crossed the carriageway into path of bus and collided front offside to front offside. The 34-year-old man, in the Micra, was from Rotherham and suffered multiple injuries. He died at the scene. The 63-year-old man driving the bus was from Sheffield and was not reported to have been hurt. Anyone who saw the collision or the manner of driving prior to it is urged to call South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 967 of 16 December.
