TheAlex Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 For those who live in the area or those hoping for more housing opportunities there, the developer of the site, Artisan, have gone into administration. So basically all the local people will have to further suffer the 'nice view' of a building site, plus associated problems like fly tipping etc. And the prospective tennants hoping for a home will have to wait long or not at all (depending on the outcome). Who knows how long it will take to sort out and for a new developer to step in. It could be a while though if there are legal procedings - apparently there was money in the bank for the developer but the HCA (Homes and Communities Agency) wouldn't let them use it to build the properties, they ended up using there own money but then went bust. Don't you just love these govenment agencies that pretend to be helping but then actually scupper any development! (But then they have an agenda to not build new homes so as to keep house prices from falling. Paranoid? maybe not...)
Krush Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 Once HCA funding has been granted, it cannot be revoked simply because the government no longer wish to invest. Either this developer lost their PFI backer or something more sinister. This is the only way the HCA would pull funding.
TheAlex Posted December 16, 2011 Author Posted December 16, 2011 Well it's in the hands of the administrators now.

chem1st Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 The site should be seized and the houses built to replace council housing that has been destroyed.

chem1st Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 nah, leave it as it is, let us have our dog walking area back Maybe leave a bit of area for dog walking then, and you will have some new neighbours to talk to in the morning, evening, etc. ...
moxy_magic Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 We have been waiting to find out what is going on, we have reserved a plot on this development and were due to be moving in around may/june time. Guess this is not going to be happening now :-( ill have to contact Artisan who are the developers and see whats going on.
xstacey88x Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 i had a reservation here. the lady on site was absolutely useless and couldnt tell us anything about the status etc. i was doing all of the chasing, contacting Artisan. until i eventually found out it had stalled and they'd lost funding. they were ok taking my money!!! glad they hadn't cashed my reservation cheque or i would've lost £250. worst thing i ever did, get involved with Haybrook who were useless and Artisan. I am now waiting for my new house to be built in Handsworth, with Barratts. They are lovely and full of information. They do the chasing for everything, not me. Just waiting til May when we can move in :-)
Isabelle Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 They have a security guard who walks around the site every few hours, so they are losing money with the site just stood half-finished.
