carpetviper Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 You mean Northfields, it used to be really good until the druggies thought they could make a quick bit of cash from stealing the lights. I live the next village on from there. My cousin was one of the people who used to take part spending thousands on lights and decorations but one night he ended up having to chase some scum down the road who were attempting to steal the decorations off his garden and the police were not interested so they dont bother now.
leigh-ann-25 Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 rough estates at least they are not miserable like people in big houses.
lottysdad Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Go and look at Abbeydale Park Rise off Abbeydale Road in Totley. The residents put on a great display every year and cover the trees outside their houses in fairy lights Here's a photo I took a few years ago. It gives you an impression, but in reality it's far more magical. Thanks!! will take the kids round, have been looking for somewhere with lots of lights
DerbyTup Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 rough estates at least they are not miserable like people in big houses. Classic! I lived on a rough estate and now I live in a big house. I've had to grump up a lot since moving here!

There's one house which goes totally over the top, in a good way
Tess Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Totally agree with Nagel, some lovely houses over there - not too tacky, just nice.
