Robbie Loving Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 Nice little pay day? Why is that? Not many are going to turn up for the game. Well let's say they play in front of 200 people normally paying around £6 per ticket.... if 6,000 turn up at the Lane at say £10 a ticket... I'd call that a nice pay day for them. Also the prize money for being in this round will probably see them round for an extra couple of years.
dogsneck Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 Well that's proved what I said never met a big club Indeed, not a big club, a MASSIVE club

There are 40 more teams they would rather play. I doubt the Salisbury fans will be ecstatic at having drawn Sheffield United tbh.

aaron1867 Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 Do you know any Salisbury fans ???? Like Robstar said, there are worse draws they could have got ... There are a lot more better draws that could have and the better draws outdraw the number of worse draws they could have had. There are 64 teams left in the competition and 44 are them are in a higher league than you. Not to mention they have already played Wednesday, so not sure they are that fussed about a visit to BL. This isn't me saying we are massive, but my opinion on it. I don't think Salisbury fans will be neither happy or gutted about the draw.

They are probably estatic to have beaten Grimsby and have the chance to play at BDTBL and its a nice little earner for them that will see them pay off thier debts for the next few years.... There are indeed 64 teams left in the competition and 44 are also in a higher league than you as well, so not exactly sure what your point is... 10,000 at the Lane will be a much better atmosphere than say 10,000 at hillsborough , Thats my opinion on it

But will it be 10,000? I personally don't think this will be a masive earner for them tbh. The proceeds from the match go 40/40/20 and ticket prices are likely to be reduced too. let's just say 10,000 turn up and an average prices of ticket at £8 = £80k. You have to take away the costs that have been incurred, along with the FA cut and then only go 40/40. I don't know if £15k is going to be that brillaint for them. Something of course, but it seems like United fans on here think it's going to earn them hundreds of thousands, it's not.

Plus their average crowd is under 1,000 so £15 gate money for one game would be great for them.
Robbie Loving Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 Just decided to check on Salisbury.... Their average attendance is around 700, not 200 - with an average ticket price of £10. So effectively £7k per home game..... obviously minus their costs, you'd imagine £5k They've earned already £27k just for getting to this round, and another £67.5k if they beat us. Let's say we earn 80k, with 32k being their share... minus costs, you'd imagine around 24k being the net. If you don't call that a nice little pay day, well then that's baffling. Also, it would appear their manager is pleased with the draw,
