dtcm Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 I assume there's a very good reason for digging up Crookes Road very noisily at 20:15 onwards this evening.....ffs.....
Halibut Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 I assume there's a very good reason for digging up Crookes Road very noisily at 20:15 onwards this evening.....ffs..... Yeah, there probably is. Live with it.
Longcol Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 I assume there's a very good reason for digging up Crookes Road very noisily at 20:15 onwards this evening.....ffs..... You'd prefer them to do it during the day when there's more traffic?
Anglersvista Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 Buried Treasure..... right there:- 'X'
Mellington Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 You'd prefer them to do it during the day when there's more traffic? Yes, I sleep less in the day!
steveh Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 They're hardly doing at night on overtime/extra hours charges for fun are they?
big500 Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 If you are referring to opposite School Road, and opposite 144 (Monday night) then yes there is a good reason. 2 Carriageway telephone chambers have failed and have been reported as being "noisy" and rattling when vehicles travel over them. Sheffield Council have stipulated that they be changed between 19.00 and 23.00 on an evening (when the buses and HGV traffic quieten down), Tonight both boxes will be re-instated and the issue should be solved.
dtcm Posted December 14, 2011 Author Posted December 14, 2011 big500, Thank you for the helpful and informed reply. The worry last night was that it was going to go on into the wee hours which thankfully it didn't and sounds like it won't again tonight. They are busy out there right now. About to don headphones and listen to something other than a disc cutter at full tilt..... D.
big500 Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 dtcm, you are welcome, the one at School Road is done and by now I would imagine the one opposite 144 will be complete. Sorry for the inconvienience and thanks for the understanding
