jenny86 Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 Hi...... Hoping someone can help me. My dad had an acer aspire one and the other day the touch pad went a bit mad. We can use the touch pad to move the pointer around but cannot use the buttons to click on anything so cant access any menus ect. Also when we move the pointer onto the task bar the pointer turns to the loading symbols. My dad lost his patience with this and bought my sister a new laptop and now has her old one. I really want to get this one working so i can give it to my son to help him with his school work. If anyone can give any advice i would really appreciate it. P.S i have tried the fn f7 thing and it doesnt work.
jenny86 Posted December 13, 2011 Author Posted December 13, 2011 Thanks did a reboot and that seems to have worked unfortunately seem to have wiped all my dads stuff off but at least it's working. My son will be chuffed lol thanks
sccsux Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 <snip> The first link in your sig gives a 403 error, and the second one is timing out.
laptop man Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 You do not really need a driver for basic operation of the touchpad. Try uninstalling the driver which should be found in the control panel add/remove software section. See if the touchpad now operates withou a specific driver; if not then the pad or the laptop motherboard may be at fault in which case you may need to contact a laptop repairer eg http://www.trilogicuk.co.uk or use it with an external USB mouse.
