CorkerSWFC Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 Bit of sad news for the lad, good player in my opinion and seems a decent lad all the best to him... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16165953.stm
ChrisT70 Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 thats a real shame for the lad, and a blow for UTD given the amount of injuries they are carrying. hes lost loads of weight and form last year and was only just getting back to how he could play.
JFKvsNixon Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 It can be an awful debilitating illness that can flair up again and again, so I hope Fletcher concentrates on regaining his health and forgets about playing football for a long time.
ChrisT70 Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 i'm now hoping that UTD do splash the cash for a top midfielder rather than waiting for summer. fletcher, anderson, vidic, chicarito, the twins all out.
sportsvoice Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 I picked up on a section on Sky Sports News earlier tonight about United's lack of spending in the January transfer windows, they don't think Ferguson will plunge for anyone but I think they have to if they want a decent shot at challenging for the title come the end of the season. Rumours say they could put up a £20m bid for Jack Rodwell from Everton, he's a good prospect and will definately be a decent player in the long run but I don't think he's the right player to help bring some joy to Old Trafford this season and what with the champions league failure and extremely tough title campaign they need an impact player in the middle of midfield I think.
MC Spyda Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 Always thought he was a pretty terrible player, but none-the-less wouldn't wanna wish this on anyone. Tis a shame really.
0742Sheff Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 Good luck to the lad. I hope he makes it back at some point.
ChrisT70 Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 Always thought he was a pretty terrible player, but none-the-less wouldn't wanna wish this on anyone. Tis a shame really. hes never been a terrible player, 2 seasons ago he was superb. last season was ruined with the "viral" infection they kept talking about and then this season he's been a pale shadow of his former self. i hope he can come back as he once was, but suspect he never will. Utd now need to buy a strong midfielder, in Jan or summer.

ChrisT70 Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 In my opinion he was a terrible player and always has been. how often have you watched him play though? i think quite a few players are terrible but without seeing them week in week out i cant judge. having previously had a season ticket for yrs and seeing him play on many occasions he certainly isnt one of utds terrible players. massimo taibi, jordi cruyff, djemba djemba and a few more spring to mind and then anderson to some extent and carrick before you'd chuck fletch.
