Are you a victim of burglary?

its a shame they arent harsher on sentencing, make it 3 yrs served for a 2nd offence and 5yrs for a 3rd. Build additional prison spaces if need be, eventually the harsh sentences will have an effect.

A minor point of starting this thread was to highlight the utter incompetence of the Star in spelling burglary as burglargy. Except that now the mods have changed the (deliberately) misspelled title of my thread so that the word is spelled correctly.

It's hard work on here sometimes.

I gather that the police were busy in Broomhill this afternoon ticketing cars that had parked on the kerb. Obviously a lot easier than solving a burglary or two.

I have a few times.

SYP are useless, they could have caught two of them, ended up having to send one down for ABH, the next victim wasn't fortunate to just lose private property you see.

I can break in to your house in a couple of minutes. It is so easy. I only consider homes with UPVC doors to be at risk. You know, the ones with three-point locking systems? I have cut so many cat-flaps in these doors and a burglar flap would take less time as it would not have to be so neat. Do you know what lies between your precious contents and the outside world? Let me tell you, unless you have the steel reinforced option, it is a few millimeters of plastic and a bit of foam insulation.

Well let's face it they don't do anything when you give them the name, address & where the goods are stashed so how do you expect them to be able to do anything when they don't know

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

I was a victim of burglary in my first house on robey street 1989, 3 months later the house was sold and I was out, god knows how the good people that are still there go on these days it wasn't great back then, but now I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy - living there I mean

I got burgled couple of weeks ago, twice in 3 years aswell as having the car done twice on separate occasions :( horrible thing, luckily I've moved now as I didn't feel safe with my little girls there. The socco man that came to do fingerprinting made my mind up about moving as he said he'd been there before for the same thing not long before I moved in! Can't be good. Took all my wrapped up Xmas prezzies aswell the sods!

Been burgled once but only last NewYear we were taken by surprise when the burglars came in through the back door as we were sat down watching Halloween. They must have heard something as they flew out..so be careful about new year and keep doors all locked :)
