GOLDEN OLDIE Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Look no further when wanting a really good, professional and local pantomime than the Barnsley Lamproom Theatre production of Cinderella. We took our two small grandsons yesterday and they were mesmorised! And at a fraction of the cost of other venues. For anyone wanting to support a really good theatre company with a wide range of productions - the last one was 'Of Mice and Men' by John Steinbeck, get on line and check out the Spring programme!!
AnnaGrant Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Been to many Lamproom pantos in the past-all excellent. Saw Katherine Kelly (Becky on Corrie) as Aladdin one year. And the chap who does the Simple Simon type character is fab, as is the short woman who is usually a fairy or comedy policeman.
miss sixty Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 totally agree with the above...been to Lamproom every year for the kids panto...its fantastic....great atmosphere...and great panto....especially the bit when the dads dont join in.....Brilliant
Toby Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 I've played the Lamproom about four times a year for the past ten years or so. I love it there, it's tiny, 187 seats, and they're all on top of the stage. A great little bar, brilliant staff and great audiences. The most fun I have is inviting trendy London type comedians up to play Barnsley, and watching them absolutely fall in love with the punters. I can't speak for the panto, I've not been for a while, but I can recommend you go and see anything at The Lamproom. They have a varied programme, you'll get into anything for a tenner, and you'll be supporting a small independent venue where the staff love what they're doing.
